Role & Responsibilities

As a manager for the management stack engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering the Tintri Unified Storage Products management stack roadmap. Your primary role will be to help your team innovate by providing leadership and guidance to engineers and architects, participate in design and technical decisions and enable the team to overcome any challenges that it may encounter
• You'll be leading innovation surrounding the APIs that are at the heart of our Unified Storage Products and providing the glue that connects our high-performance storage software with our intelligent user interface and other management utilities


• You will be the liaison between your team, senior management, product management and other cross-functional teams to drive roadmap and strategy for your product area. This will involve close interaction with product management to understand the product use-cases, analyze and define the scope of the requirements, work with the management stack engineering team on the effort estimates, capex budgeting, planning and execution that results in a quality & on-time product releases


• As a people manager you will be expected to recruit and retain top talent, engage in team and regular 1-1 meetings while ensuring career development

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with SDLC, Agile and Scrum software development methodologies


• Knowledge and operational experience with storage, networking, and/or large-scale distributed systems


• Hands-on software/hardware development experience with high performance SSD/HDD based server/storage systems


• Demonstrated experience with delivering REST APIs and management stack capabilities in a development engineering group delivering hardware and software systems


• Knowledge surrounding the development and productization of RESTful interfaces


• Knowledgeable with microservice architecture


• Familiarity with JSON and message parsing


• Good understanding of secure development practices


• Prior experience in programming using Node.js, python and JavaScript programming languages.


• Should be able to help the team in debugging software issues by providing necessary guidance and thorough code reviews

Education & experience

• BS or MS CS/EE or equivalent with 15+ years of industry experience, of which 5+ years is in Engineering Management
