IT Supervisor,

Gaithersburg, MD

Your Tasks:

As a member of the Miltenyi Biotec team, you will plan, coordinate, direct and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department for US based operations. Additionally, you will work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations. As a result of your ability to oversee projects and project portfolio, you will support the continued success of Miltenyi Biotec as a whole.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Establish, plan, and administer overall policies and goals for the U.S. based information technology department in accordance with corporate policies and goals in cooperating with the corporate Head of IT.


• Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, routers, gateways, remote access servers, PCs, operating systems, database administration, hardware, software, peripherals, Internet or Intranet devices and connections for U.S. facilities and home offices.


• Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems within the Corporate IT strategy.


• Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.


• Coordinate with Corporate IT to implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.


• Develop requests for proposal.


• Practice asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment.


• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's corporate IT counterparts, executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.


• Assists with other projects, as identified by Corporate IT and/or US Management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (B.S./ B.A.) in computer science or related field and five to eight years' experience in IT support in a lead role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Strong knowledge of networks, computer software and hardware; knowledge of data communications, network planning and analysis; and vendor evaluations.


• Any technical certifications and/or technical training in personal computer hardware and/or software, servers, local and wide area networks, and/or communications highly desirable.
