If you are a MANUFACTURING & OPERATIONS professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our RACINE, WI location, you will manage assigned shifts; ensure departments are following the established policies and plans for the day. Assist supervisors/Leads on day-to-day safety, quality, customer service, and production matters.  Assist departments that do not have direct supervision on their shift.  Work to motivate employees with a strong, positive attitude and work with or lead problem-solving teams.
 

AS THE SHIFT MANAGER - 3RD SHIFT, YOU WILL: 


  • Enforce safety policies and procedures, including daily housekeeping duties and 5S assignments.
  • Assist in enforcing all company policies and procedures and assist with employee relations issues as needed.
  • Improve the effectiveness of the operation, as measured by safety, quality, productivity, and communications goals, by working with various departments.
  • Understand and communicate strategies for your shift by area including production targets, staffing, key issue resolution, etc.  Drive accountability to these strategies and targets across your shift.
  • Identify and lead resolution of key issues impacting shift.  Escalate issues to manufacturing leadership that are not able to be resolved on your shift.
  • Implement and audit leader standard work to ensure key plant process controls are being proactively managed.
  • Lead, or participate in, improvement meetings and cross-functional teams including auditing.
  • Assist with the proper training of the workforce.
  • Communicate needs for the prior shift and address to ensure shift has a successful startup; address requirements of the following shift.  

  • Supervisor backup for illness or vacations as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience with a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing processes, engineering, or related technical field and/or equivalent years of experience and education, i.e., Nine (9) years of related work experience including five years of supervision experience
  • Good understanding of production processes and equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong orientation toward safety, quality, customer service and continuous improvement
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
