Role Summary/Purpose



Wabtec Global Locomotive Operations ("GLO") is a global technology leader in the design and manufacturing of locomotives. It is a significant business under the Freight Equipment group, generating ~$1B of revenue annually. With the societal trends around the world moving towards greener operations, the GLO business is actively working on the next generation of locomotive technology to reduce the environment impacts in the rail industry as well as continue to deliver on our customers' expectations around performance and reliability. This next generation technology will bring a new chapter of exciting growth to the GLO business over the next few years.


As GLO finance analyst, you will be responsible for managing the financials of your respective customer programs as well as assisting with the maintenance of GLO's cost of quality budget. To be successful in this role, you must have strong critical thinking skills as well as collaborate cross-functionally with others across the business, including Program Management and Supply Chain, to drive execution of your customer programs. This role provides the opportunity to take ownership of the financial projections and results of your customer programs, including clearly and concisely communicating those results to executive leadership, as well as drive process improvement in the tracking and reporting of cost of quality projects.



Essential Responsibilities


  • Develop deep understanding of assigned customer contracts/programs, primarily in the North America region, and collaborate with others across the business (i.e., Program Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.) to properly account for financials during program execution

  • Create and maintain financial budgets and projections related to assigned programs, including proactively identifying risks and opportunities to improve financial results

  • Assess and continuously monitor post-delivery contractual clause related to warranty and availability/reliability

  • Perform monthly financial close procedures and ad hoc analyses to provide insights on performance of customer programs

  • Lead recurring financial and risk reviews with executive leadership


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, planning and reporting and business partnership roles


Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance is preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking

  • Demonstrated success in a project leadership role, with the ability to influence others in a highly matrixed environment

  • Knowledge of Oracle, HFM and OBIEE is a positive
