Job Description:



TITLE: D77 Motor Mechanic


DEPARTMENT: 602


REPORTS TO: Team Leader


EXEMPT: No SALARY LEVEL: Hourly


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Grinding


Light grinding of motors and frames


Painting


Paint separate pieces of equipment as necessary


Coil removal/Installation


Removal and installation of coils on armature as necessary


Brazing


Use of acetylene, propane and oxygen throughout brazing process


Assembly


Disassemble motors as needed for repair and maintenance


Use hand tools and instructions sheet to re-assemble motor


Testing


Electrical testing of armatures


Clean and test armatures for installation


Other duties as required.


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:


Experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful. High school diploma or equivalent.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


Must be a hands-on person capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to use mechanical tools such as grinders, cranes, hoists, jacks, and air pressure tools. Electrical test equipment, measuring instruments, and able to read blue prints experience preferred. Must be able to read and write English.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


Employee must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Employee must be able to push/pull/ at least 50lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


The noise level is normal for a factory environment. The employee is working in a well-lit environment.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


Abide by and conform to all company rules and policies. Follow all safety directives and work in a safe manner. Maintain good housekeeping standards around the work station. Know, understand, and follow quality procedures. Accurately document your work as required by company procedures.
