SUMMARY

The Office of Science (OS) located within the Office of the Director at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) is seeking experienced Scientist III.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):


  • Work with research priorities workgroup to develop evaluation questions, logic model, methods, and analyses for evaluating each of NCIPC's research priorities due for a 3- to 5-year evaluation.
  • Develop methods for yearly updates.
  • Provide guidance to the master's level evaluation scientist in the collection of data and implementation of yearly progress updates.
  • Develop methods and processes for other Office of Science evaluation activities, including but not limited to evaluation of scientific document review system and processes for open data policy.
  • Assist the NCIPC Associate Director for Science with other evaluation projects, as
  • needed.
  • Conduct yearly progress reports for all priority topics covered in the Injury Center research priorities documents.
  • Assist with reviewing and summarizing outputs from research, including manuscripts, presentations, and tools developed as a result of NCIPC research.
  • Validation of data in research tracking system.
  • Assist with analysis of the 3- to 5-year review of research priorities.
  • Assist the NCPC Associate Director with other evaluation projects, as needed.
  • Work with extramural research program operations (ERPO) staff to develop evaluation questions, logic model, methods, and analyses for evaluating each of NCIPC's research priorities due for a 3- to 5-year evaluation.
  • Develop methods for yearly updates and provide data collection, analysis, management, visualization and reporting for ERPO programs.
  • Support research translation and dissemination efforts.
  • Provide guidance to the master's level evaluation scientist in the collection of data and implementation of yearly progress updates.
  • Develop methods and processes for other Office of Science evaluation activities, including but not limited to evaluation of scientific document review system and processes for open data policy.
  • Assist the NCIPC ERPO Director with other evaluation projects, as needed.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY


  • No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


  • PhD-Level Scientist
  • 10+ years of evaluation experience/experience performing duties similar to those described.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Previous CDC experience highly desired
  • Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and lead a diverse team
  • Effective communication skills; both orally and written
  • Pursuant to U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, Cherokee Federal is now requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8th and going forward.
