Job Description:

Provides training to staff and serves as a resource for new and current Medical Assistants. Creates training materials; provides resources to office staff and provides regular training as indicated. May function in Medical Assistant capacity as staffing needs dictate; according to established procedures, collects and performs limited tests of specimens per physician order. Assists physician and nurse with designated procedures. Performs related secretarial/clerical duties. Travels between multiple physician offices as needed.

Requirements

Education and Training

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program; MA certification or registration is required within 90 days of hire OR Graduate of a school of practical nursing and current license to practice practical nursing in the State of Ohio and authorized by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing to administer medication.

• BLS required.

Experience

• One (1) year training experience

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

• Ability to collect samples (e.g., blood, throat cultures, etc.) and to perform limited tests of such.


• Ability to operate microscope, cameras, videotape, etc.


• Ability to self-manage and prioritize work.


• Strong reporting skills.


• Strong computer and organizational skills.


• Strong interpersonal and clinical skills.
