Fragrance Intelligence Analyst - Princeton, NJ at Firmenich in Princeton, New Jersey

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

* Reverse engineer fragranced consumer branded market products by utilizing GC/MS and GCO as per Perfumer request.

* Communicate and collaborate with the Global analysts to ensure all requests are handled and delivered using standardized lab protocols.

* Perform market product extractions (SPE, SPME, liquid-liquid).

* Report data to enhance current AI and Digitization projects.

* Provide analytical support to the non-Perfumer community (R&D, Ingredients, QC).

* Mentor and coach other members of the team.



Requirements:

* Master degree in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent knowledge with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

* Experience in reverse engineering of fragranced consumer branded market products utilizing GC/MS, Headspace, and other techniques.

* Proficient in the identification of perfumery raw materials by both analytical tools and olfactive ability.

* Proficient in SPE, SPME, liquid-liquid, steam distillation and other extraction techniques

* Proficient to perform maintenance and troubleshooting of the instruments used.

* Proficient in using and improving existing data-bases.

* Able to perform data treatment with basic to advanced software.

* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
