The Prudential International Insurance (PII) Finance Planning & Analysis Team has an opening for a highly motivated and inquisitive Planning & Analysis Specialist. The International Finance P&A team provides support for finance-related matters, including planning and analysis, management reporting, business driver analytics and other strategic deliverables.

Job Description

This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong communication, analytical and technical skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of management and cultivate effective partnerships across many constituents, including PII Finance teams, Corporate Planning & Analysis, Tax, Treasury, and USB P&A team. The individual in this role will provide a line of sight into all of PII’s operations and will be a key contributor to PII’s consolidated forecasting process. The incumbent will report to the Associate Manager, Planning & Analysis within the consolidated P&A team.

Responsibilities:


  • Play a lead role in the consolidation and analysis of PII’s projections. This includes, but is not limited to, the quarterly base case forecast submissions from the regional and Newark teams as well as alternate scenarios required by Corporate.


  • Prepare insightful analysis communicating key forecast drivers to PII management, Corporate teams and senior audiences, clearly conveying business trends impacting financial results.


  • Establish close working relationships and partner effectively with the Newark finance teams within PII, as well as Tax, Corporate P&A & AMFM; this is most critical during the preparation of forecast submissions.


  • Assist with the off-quarter forecast update process in support of external communication made during the quarterly earnings release of next quarter’s expected earnings to investors.


  • Assist in the completion of senior management level presentations and ad-hoc requests, as required.


  • Increase operational efficiency through identification and implementation of potential process enhancements, as well as technological and data solutions.


  • Assist with ongoing enhancements to the new forecast collection tool, FFB, which may include participating in identifying enhancement needs and testing efforts, in collaboration with business partners and finance teams.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting


  • Minimum 2-3 years financial related experience


  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills


  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint


  • Easily establishes a rapport with others, as well as builds effective business partnerships


  • Strong analytical and organizational skills


  • Proactive, high degree of self-motivation and passion to succeed


  • Ability to work through issues independently and as part of a team


  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities under tight deadlines


  • Attention to detail


  • Knowledge of Prudential’s financial systems (FFB, Oracle, EFDW, etc) preferred


  • Overtime required during peak planning and forecasting periods


  • Travel is not expected
