POSITION SUMMARY: The Electrical Construction Manager will manage the electrical team and subcontractors as well as the technical and electrical information from start to finish for Large Hi-Tech projects. The manager will collaborate with design professionals, clients, subcontractors and craftspeople to address complex electrical coordination issues; this position is on the front line to aid in avoiding and solving technical problems that arise. The ECM will also lead our electrical quality control efforts onsite. This includes document review during preconstruction to commissioning and punch list.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interpretation of construction documents, controls sequences and technical manuals
Run startup meetings involving Area Construction Managers, Design Team members, multiple subcontractors, local utility agencies and owners to coordinate/drive MEP system start up activities
Interface between Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors to assist in coordinating Mechanical/Electrical startups
Coordinating work with Mechanical Project Manager and team
Verify all documentation is complete and equipment being readied for startup is construction complete and can be safely started
Coordinate electrical systems with architectural and structural elements within the overall project design
Organize and facilitate training of Owner's personnel in the operations and maintenance of Electrical systems
Review and process project submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure the accuracy and functionality of each component of the various MEP systems
Receiving and distributing requests for information and change documents issued by other offices
Organization, completion and filing of record documents
Information storage and retrieval using computer and other handheld electronic hardware
Technical advisor at onsite field construction office
Ability to access all areas and levels of construction site for work progress review
Flexible work schedule to allow extended periods of overtime or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction sequences
Assist in estimating electrical budget for projects
Secure electrical subcontractor and equipment buyout
Manage electrical subcontractor contracts and contract modifications
Oversee billing and schedule of values formation
Assist with managing project staffing
Write and publish meeting minutes, schedule graphs and activity checklists
Provide clear communication verbally, written and electronically

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent degree or equivalent work experience
Education background in materials and methods of construction
Extensive experience on large industrial projects; Hi- Tech preferred
Field and Personnel management experience
Must be familiar with medium and low voltage distribution, large generators, UPS equipment, and electrical installations on large mechanical and process equipment
Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with CSI specification system for electrical scopes of work
Ability to work closely with trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and professionalism are essential and being able to maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: must be able to work closely with owners, architects, engineers and subs
Skill in handling several work activities at once while frequently interrupted by phone calls and urgent questions on work in progress.
Training in design document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills
Proficient in the following programs: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook), Prolog, Procore, E-Builder laser digital Scanning, Building Information Model (BIM), Autocad, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Suretrack Project Manager, and Primavera Project Planner (P6)
