$1000 SIGN ON BONUS


The Behavioral Health Technician/Case Manager (BHTCM) provides services to Hope’s treatment/support recipients through mental health case management and providing specialized supports. This position performs services as assigned in multiple environments with varying support recipients who experience challenging behaviors and co-occurring diagnosis, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, mental health diagnosis, and who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities. The BHTCM implements Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programs under the supervision of a Licensed Behavior Analyst and therapeutic interventions and techniques under the direction of a Mental Health Clinician. These supports occur either one-on-one or in group settings as outlined in treatment plans, and may take place in the home, community or center-based settings. The BHTCM provides all necessary supports and treatment to ensure support recipients feel safe and valued as they work on value driven outcomes, such as social independence and community inclusion.


The BHTCM also provides case management and community based services to individuals on their caseloads, their families, and/or therapeutic home providers. The BHTCM works with the treatment/support recipient’s team to develop treatment goals and objectives. This position accomplishes positive program outcomes through the facilitation of ongoing collaborative and interactive processes between the treatment/support recipient and his/her family/guardian and professional service/treatment providers and/or the natural supports within the community. The Behavioral Health Technician/Case Manager maintains loyalty to the organization, its beliefs, values, mission, vision, and expectations, and to the recipients of services.


 


Essential Job Duties


1. Implements Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programs under the supervision of a Licensed Behavior Analyst and therapeutic interventions and techniques under the direction of a Mental Health Clinician. Teaches prescribed skill acquisition programs and strategies.


2. Uses applied behavior analysis interventions to teach support recipients skills; including communication, social interaction, problem-solving, daily living etc. Provides interventions that encourage socially acceptable replacement behaviors. Helps facilitate interactions between support recipients and others.


3. Introduces and implements behavior protocols; provides behavioral intervention in home, community, and school settings. Teaches recipient’s guardians and caregivers to use planned treatment protocols to intervene with the recipient to reinforce, change and to maintain treatment progress.


4. Tracks and documents support recipient’s behaviors, skills, progress, and interventions and generates graphical data and reports for review and treatment decisions.


5. Monitors support recipients’ health and reports health concerns to appropriate supervisor and/or parent/guardian. Assists with following medical orders and medication administration and documentation, as specified by support recipient’s medical professional(s). Accompanies and participates in appointments as requested.


6. Provides overall coordination and communication of needs and services for each treatment recipient on their caseload, which includes interactions with Agency staff, community-based service providers, and family members/guardians.


7. Maintains and manages a caseload and meets productivity standards of billable hours per week, as required by Hope’s Director of Mental Health.


8. Ensures that each treatment/support recipient has ongoing active treatment in accordance with the clinical recommendation in the treatment plan.


9. Works directly with treatment recipient on CRSS/CM/ICM, using appropriate treatment models and interventions. Coordinates treatment with Mental Health Associates or Behavioral Health Technicians and facilitates CRSS groups when clinically appropriate.  


10. Ensures that each treatment/support recipient has been provided opportunities for mental health, medical, dental, dietary and/or health assessments and follow up. Assists with referrals, applications, and follow up to various government and community resources.


11. Ensures that the Treatment Plan, Emergency Response Plan, notes, and any other related documents are completed and in the recipient’s master file. Maintains a current understanding of Alaska Division of Behavioral Health regulations, accreditation standards, and Hope’s Standard Operating Procedures.


12. Collaborates with the support recipient’s team to assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans and monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.


13. Coordinates transportation for support recipients, which may include transporting in a personal vehicle, arranging public transportation, and/or through the use of vehicles assigned to the Agency.


14. Completes accurate, timely, and thorough documentation, including but not limited to, service notes, goal tracking, incident reports, and timecards, to be in compliance with Agency standards and Federal and State regulations


15. Works a variety of hours and locations and with a number of different support recipients, both children and adults.


16. Assures appropriate attendance, facilitation, and preparation for all Treatment Team and Support Team meetings according to Agency standards. Assists in the development of the Treatment Plan and discharge planning.
