POSITION OBJECTIVES:
You will be an immunologist/ cell biologist/ bioengineer with strong background and experience in immuno-oncology, especially T/gdT/NK cell biology
You will play an important role in preclinical cell therapy projects from conception through experimental design, execution and analysis
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Independently plans, designs, executes, troubleshoots, analyzes and presents experiments to drive development of cell therapy discovery platforms and target selection
Establishes in vitro assays and executes in vitro experiments for the evaluation and investigation of cell therapies, such as immune cell differentiation, characterization, cytokine production, proliferation and cytolytic activity
Cultures and engineers primary or iPS-derived immune cells using approaches such as gene editing and viral transduction
Designs and performs multi-parameter flow cytometry experiments to phenotype primary or iPS-derived human and murine cells
Prepares study protocols, reports, technology transfer documentation, and regulatory documents for various studies
Responsible for participating and interacting on matrix project teams, presents study results at team or department meetings, to external partners or at conferences
Understands project timelines and deliverables and plans/coordinates project work accordingly with departmental, functional and external stakeholders
Contributes significantly and independently to project work which may include multiple projects within functional area
Designs in vivo experiments for evaluating cell therapies
Reviews, interprets and communicates data cross-functionally in project teams
Plans and implements resolutions to technical problems/issues
Represents functional area on project teams by communicating activities from designated functional area to project team
Assists with development of project strategy and communicates complex data/decisions within department and cross functionally as necessary
Builds and maintains relationships with key vendors and assists with technical aspects of vendor negotiations
Responsible for integrating scientific/technical efforts around cross-functional issues
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Ph.D. in immunology, cancer biology, biomedical engineering, or related scientific discipline; 0-5+ years relevant industry/academic experience, or
MS with 8+ years experience, or
BS with 10+ years experience
Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Demonstrated mastery of subject or area related to the field
Mammalian and primary cell culture expertise
Extensive experience in design, execution, interpretation and optimization of cell based assays such as cytotoxicity, proliferation, flow cytometry and reporter assays
Cell engineering expertise (viral production and transduction, electroporation) is a plus
Experience in cell therapies is a plus
