Description

Position Summary: Responsible for executing quality control/assurance inspection, testing and verification of finished products, work in-process, procured materials and components to assess and verify conformance to requirements and production process capabilities. Facilitate continuous improvement of customer satisfaction and operational performance. Provide support to other departments including, but not limited to Production, Shipping, Service, and Purchasing.

























































Essential Duties & Responsibilities



Execute, maintain, and improve procedures for effective quality control and planning.



Supervision: Apply effective human resources and leadership practices including, but not limited to:



  • Train, lead, and mentor personnel to perform effectively and efficiently

  • Plan, delegate, and control work assignments

  • Provide training and ensure company policies and procedures are followed;

  • Provide timely and effective performance and corrective action/disciplinary feedback

  • Control and monitor absenteeism, tardiness, and verify personnel time sheets

  • Promote positive personnel relations and well-being

  • Resolve conflicts that may arise between personnel

  • Promote continuous improvement principles, activities and efforts

  • Manage change and transitions that may be stressful and/or disruptive



Inspect and test vendor supplied materials, assess and verify conformance to specifications and assess and verify vendor capability



Inspect and test customer returns; coordinate repair and calibration activities of customer owned product; facilitate activities associated with returns for credit and other RMA issues



Inspect and test in-process products to assess conformance to specifications and verify production process capability



Inspect and test final products to assess conformance to specifications and to verify process capability



Record results of all inspection and testing activities, display/report results in the appropriate format to support effective communication, analysis and decision making and records requirements



Maintain quality records including Device History Files and other inspection and test records accurately and completely



Assist Engineering with establishing, interpreting, maintaining and improving quality standards for product performance, reliability and appearance



Apply, or assure the application of, labeling to finished products as required: Serial number labels, certification (CE) and related



Operate various inspection and test equipment in executing quality control/assurance testing and inspection procedures and operations including, but not limited to:



  • X-ray imaging equipment

  • Ultrasound imaging equipment

  • Film processing equipment

  • Measuring devices such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.

  • Optical comparators

  • Linear scales

  • Surface plates



Execute specific Quality Management System Procedures as assigned or required



Communicate QC results and trends to Production Staff and Management team in formal manner



Be knowledgeable and follow Sun Nuclear Quality Management System policies and procedures



Be knowledgeable and follow Sun Nuclear Safety policy and procedures

Experience2 years: Specialized training beyond high school normally gained through a technical program around 18 months duration. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a quality control/quality assurance testing and inspection role required. ASQ Certification is preferred. (preferred)
