Job Description:

The Integrated Business Planning (IBP) organization of Tempur+Sealy is responsible for the collaborative development of demand and supply planning for all manufacturing within the CRev division. The primary role of the Supply Planner is to facilitate the process of replenishing inventory according to predefined parameters that will ensure inventory availability to support production and sales objectives with pricing and delivery timing consideration.



Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:



  • Create and monitor supply policies that support sales, production and inventory targets.

  • Create and maintain inventory forecasts to drive supply chain and sourcing strategies.

  • Report inventory forecast, key performance metrics and assumptions to internal stakeholders.

  • Meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for days of supply.


Strategic Role:



  • Create the best inventory forecast possible through use and maintenance of current supply-planning systems and established processes.

  • Assure high level of customer order fulfillment through appropriate inventory levels that ensure planning parameters are defined, adhered to and accurately met.

  • Facilitate proper purchasing and material forecasting to avoid material obsolescence and excess inventory and transportation costs.

  • Understand the road map and forecast trends to make educated decisions on supply policies.

  • Develop supply policies that support supplier lead times, production plans, and space constraints.

  • Provide guidance on build plans through finished good stock parameters aligned to the sales forecast and inventory targets.

  • Develop component receipt plans that align to production, sales forecasts and inventory targets.

  • Establish forward looking materials forecasting, planning, and inventory level objectives.

  • Support product life cycle launch excellence by collaborating on new product launch forecasts, inclusive of alignment on raw material receipts and production timing to ensure successful new production implementation.

  • Support end of life cycle planning through inventory evaluation and strategy suggestions that results in minimal inventory obsolescence and financial impact.

  • Identify and mitigate component inventory risks by developing strategies with cross functional teams for alternative material sources and freight options.

  • Troubleshoot fulfillment shortages and communicate with defined reasons and logic.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve material shortages, production delays, yield issues and other issues.

  • Make recommendations to enhance business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.


Tactical Role:



  • Develop and deploy key inventory metrics and reports.

  • Evaluate and report key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Monitor key performance indicators and analyze data as need for continuous improvement.

  • Generate purchase plans with pricing and delivery specifications that adhere to key targets.

  • Determine material requirements and coordinate material freight type and costing with logistics.

  • Monitor inbound movement of materials from suppliers and escalate any supply risks.

  • Provide weekly reporting to monitor and escalate inventory risks and opportunities.

  • Material flow validation and risk reporting for new product launches.

  • Analysis and inventory reporting for transition and end of life programs.

  • Execute consensus build plans based off finished good forecast confidence.

  • Prepare and present analysis for the monthly close, inclusive of reporting and presentation slides.

  • Openly and frequently communicate on inventory risks and challenges.

  • Assist team with daily/weekly report generation and deliver ad-hoc reports as required.

  • Function as a team player focused on the division and company goals.

  • Participate in cross-functional activities and projects as deemed appropriate by the manager.
