Persistent Systems is seeking a Director of Business Development, Army who will be responsible for growing business by identifying and establishing new customer relationships, as well as maintaining our existing ones for our Army customers. You will also be responsible for capturing business, managing high revenue accounts, and assisting with programmatic measures to ensure that customers receive the best products and services available for their needs. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and implementing strategies that will expand Persistent Systems' customer base on a global scale. The position will be remote, but, the preferred location is within a commutable distance from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
Position Responsibilities
Identifying potential new customers; managing and developing existing customer relationships
Developing sales strategies and unique selling propositions to meet sales targets
Collaborating with Sales and Engineering to identify new product opportunities
Developing and retaining existing customer relationships by presenting solutions to meet customer needs, ensuring customer satisfaction
Demonstrated record of managing key accounts after the initial sale
Creating business proposals, handling initial negotiations, and closing business deals as part of a team
Identifying industry and marketing events and trade shows that will provide opportunities to expand the company's customer base
Organizing and traveling to trade shows to identify new business opportunities and strengthen current customer relationships
Conducting presentations for large groups of internal and external stakeholders
Adhering to established sales-administrative processes that allow for the transparent flow of communication between sales and internal operations teams
Job Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of Sales/Business Development experience with commercial and/or Government
Experience in a senior-level role working within the US Government or Defense Industry
Level 3 Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification from DAU
Demonstrated knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) and network theory
Strong understanding of acquisition/procurement process within the defense acquisition community
Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
Must have a United States Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in business or a related field
Prior experience interfacing with Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG)
5+ years of experience in Sales/Business Development with a demonstrated track record of revenue growth
