Position Summary
As the Connecture Database Architect, you will possess extensive experience in database design, data modeling and data architecture for high volume transactional databases in an online 24x7 production environment. The database architect will provide the technical leadership required to effectively deliver high-quality, timely solutions and services. The DB Architect’s primary focus is to research, evaluate, plan, design and document all aspects of databases.

Essential Responsibilities/ Duties
The essential responsibilities of theDatabase Architect are to:
Design, build and maintain high performance databases and related structures.
Design databases to ensure system scalability, security, performance and reliability. This includes design of tables, indexes, views, stored procedures and functions.
Provide reliable and scalable database infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.
Provides technical leadership within the application development group to facilitate and coordinate current and future development efforts that involve database design.
Participate in application development projects and take responsibility for the database architecture and design
Provide support and mentorship to engineers in all aspects of database design, creating and tuning queries.
Collaborate with and take direction from the Database Administration team to:
Identify and remediate performance and scalability issues in QA, development, staging and production databases.
Provide database growth collection and capacity planning guidelines.
Analyze statistics from production databases to increase efficiency, improve reliability and minimize operating expenses.
Work with the application development team to:
Review, recommend and provide database best practices and standards for development
Help design and implement optimal software architecture for databases
Conduct database design reviews and produce technical documentation.
Help design and implement optimal physical architecture for databases.
Extensive knowledge of all types of DML queries; ability to analyze and create complex SQL statements.
Work as part of a team and provide support when required.
Work under PCI and HIPAA compliance guidelines.
Qualifications
A BS/BA Degree Computer Science/ Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
5+ years database development and administration design of OLTP systems, relational database design, data modeling tools, creation of databases using complex structures and monitoring and performance tuning databases.
Skills/ Experience Required
Proficient with MS SQL database server and database development.
Proficient with MS SQL Management Studio and all associated features
Strong understanding of sql server security, replication and high availability features
Proficient in TSQL and excellent knowledge on query optimization using execution plan.
Highly experienced with data modeling/design tools.
Strong conceptual, logical and physical data modeling skills
Excellent knowledge and working experience in OLTP and OLAP
Experience with SSIS and ETL
Strong database analytical skills and documentation skills.
Continuous experience in development of databases from scratch or changing/improving existing database for performance.
Good understanding of SDLC and working experience of scrum process.
Working knowledge or good understanding of NoSQL (Couchbase)
Working knowledge of different types of databases, a plus.
Working knowledge or good understanding of WCF services, C#, LINQ and .NET entity framework, a plus.
