Job Description:

The Talent Development Specialist develops, updates, and conducts professional development programs in support of the University's mission and provides support to the Talent Development team.

DUTIES


  1. Participates in the planning, development, and delivery of course curriculum for University staff, including new hire orientation; coordinates logistics for training

  2. Oversees in the mandatory training process; enrollments, reporting, etc.; Assists with a new employee mentorship program.

  3. Oversees learning management system; user support, creating courses, tracking attendance, reporting, etc.

  4. Compiles data for departmental and institutional reporting needs.

  5. Collaborates with communications unit to develop advertising materials for learning events.

  6. Manages training room calendar and reservations and coordination of Talent Development materials including snacks, name tags, new hire giveaways, etc.

MARGINAL DUTIES

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Delegation of Work:  N/A Supervision Given:


  1. Experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS)

  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  3. Experience compiling reports

  4. Advanced proficiency in Excel

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge:


  1. Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position

Skills:


  1. Candidates must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Abilities:


  1. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse university community

WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Primary Work Location:  Works in an office environment

Physical Demands:  Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment, which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements. The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about sitting, (70%) walking, (15%), standing (15%), etc.

The work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.
