Financial Assistant II- Information Technology at University of Houston - Downtown in Houston, Texas

Job Description:

The Financial Assistant II provides administrative and financial support to a moderately complex department.

DUTIES

1. Prepares vouchers, purchase requisitions, change orders, and travel vouchers for purchases and expenses


2. Examines and researches invoices, purchase vouchers, and outstanding expenses to reconcile vendor discrepancies and complaints


3. Prepares departmental deposit forms


4. Prepares all contract-related documentation for the department


5. Reconciles and verifies telephone office reports and statements for department/unit


6. Ensures adherence to federal and state regulations and UHD financial policies and procedures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge:

1. Knowledge of technological trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to academic libraries.

Skills:

1. Candidates must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Abilities:

1. The ability to successfully plan and implement multiple technology projects at one time.

WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Primary Work Location: Works in an office environment

Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment, which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements. Position is physically comfortable; individual has discretion about sitting walking, standing, etc. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.
