OVERVIEW


The Human Resources Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to our fulfillment center. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. This position will proactively develop and manage an employee-oriented, high performance, organizational culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity, and accountability. The HR Manager position includes the execution and oversight of recruitment, employee relations, retention, employee engagement, performance management, benefits administration, organizational design and structure, and supporting day-to-day operations.


 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • The ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"

  • A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement

  • Develops solutions through organization effectiveness and employment lifecycle management.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results

  • Proactively identifies Human Capital solutions to resolve issues and advance business strategy.

  • The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company

  • Provide coaching to local management and team members to address concerns, mitigate organizational risk and promote a positive workplace culture

  • Provide leadership for employment practices, i.e. selection, recruitment, on-boarding, employee relations, retention, professional development, termination, ERISA, COBRA, ADA, etc.

  • Assist in the creation of job descriptions by working with other managers to understand the responsibilities of the role

  • Assist in job fairs or campus recruitment initiatives

  • Conduct New Hire Orientation

  • Ability to help evaluate potential training needs and prepare appropriate content based upon varied audiences while working around the needs of the business

  • Deliver training on topics such as Annual Enrollment, Harassment Free Workplace, or Leadership Skills training, etc.

  • Assist Team Members with any questions related to benefits, leave administration, and workplace culture

  • Partner closely with third party agencies on LOA’s, FLMA, and ADA for all ShopHQ locations

  • Consult with supervisors/managers in the administration of the performance management process and annual review process ensuring that all team members receive regular, timely, meaningful and actionable feedback on their performance

  • Investigations and Manage active workers compensation claims, lead workers compensation identify risk mitigation opportunities

  • Ensure progressive discipline is followed and tracked on all corrective actions

  • Coordinate volunteer efforts and community giving

  • Partner closely will EAP, United Way, American Red Cross, etc. as it relates to giving back in the community

  • Other duties as assigned by manager

 


 


QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in HR

  • 3-5 years of experience in HR required

  • Experience working in distribution and/or call center or large non-exempt workforces preferred

  • Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results

  • Proficient in Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint

  • Outstanding Customer Service Skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and self-initiative

  • In order to ensure service levels, it is essential that the individual in this role be able to work a regular and reliable schedule as provided by management.

  • Given the significant responsibilities of this role, it is essential that this role be filled on a full-time basis only.

  • It is essential that the duties of this role be performed on-site at ShopHQ’s facility.
