SUMMARY:

LTI, Inc.’s Senior Accountant applies principles of accounting to process financial information and prepare financial, managerial and regulatory reports.



Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:


  • Leads month-end close, including proper application of US GAAP, preparing and reviewing journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations

  • Performs monthly, quarterly and year-end processes and prepares financial statements and managerial reporting

  • Ensures the integrity of transactions contained within the financial statements; perform analytical and quantitative reviews of financial performance and monthly financial reports; ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting

  • Reconciles financial statement and balance sheet accounts and records necessary transactions on a monthly (or more frequent) basis

  • Performs analytics with the intent of finding errors and/or explaining variances

  • Assists with the year-end audit by compiling and summarizing financial information

  • Work with employees and departmental managers/supervisors to gain knowledge and understand changes in operations to support proper recognition of accounting data.

  • Prepares accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual state and federal compliance reporting and tax filings. Works with regulatory agency to audit information provided.

  • May perform special projects and analysis as requested. 

  • Ability to meet all required deadlines.  Reliability and timeliness are essential in this position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting or related field from four-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Truck transportation experience a plus. Oracle, Noetix and Tableau experience a plus. 

 

Analytical and Communication

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Ability to manage and organize multiple deadlines, phone calls, emails and paper correspondence.  Understands processes, policies and procedures.  Identify improvements to policies and procedures and suggest revisions.  Analyzes data, performs root cause analysis, documents process flow and suggests solutions.  Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with team, management, customers and suppliers.  Provides high level of customer service to meet service level standards.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. 

 

Leadership & Responsibility

Works independently on small tasks.  Works with minimal supervision.  Collaborates and works with a team.  Willing to help when or where needed.  Collaborates effectively with management, coworkers and outside parties.  Standard process decision making.

 

Other:

Employee must have PC and software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) knowledge and experience. The ability to use and troubleshoot a variety of machines such as copiers, scanners, telephones, etc.  Employee must be able to type 35wmp and operate 10 key by touch.  Employee must be flexible to work alone or as part of a team under pressure of deadlines or business volume increases.
