<ul><li>Support the development of the overall network hardware of Facebook, including monitoring network availability to all users and performing maintenance to support network availability</li><li>Assist in developing systems for Facebook's next generation network for Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Datacenters (DC) across a broad range of technologies including packet and optical for DC and WAN</li><li>Work on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to operation</li><li>Identify requirements for new solutions</li><li>Work in a collaborative environment across Facebook and with original design manufacturers (ODM) and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to drive Facebook's requirements for development, planning, operation, and deployment</li><li>Work with ODM and contract manufacturer (CM) suppliers to evaluate existing designs and work towards developing cost-effective and innovate custom designs that meet Facebook networking requirements</li><li>Design, develop, build, and test components, systems, and products based on a broad range of technologies</li><li>Recommend new products and product development, and contribute to roadmap efforts</li><li>Support production operation of Facebook's network platform across our data center, and develop efficient automation tools to improve operation efficiency</li><li>Position requires 15% travel</li></ul>


<ul><li>Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Experience must include 6 months of experience in each of the following:</li><li>Providing feedback on design for manufacturability (DFM) issues on products</li><li>Using simple hand tools to check mechanical parts to test out new concepts</li><li>Supporting thermal unit setup and testing to collect data</li><li>Working with networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, or BGP</li><li>Electrical design and debug tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, or logic probes</li><li>Working with embedded system designs</li><li>Developing efficient automation tools in languages such as Python.</li></ul>
