BSD MED - Section Administrator: Genetic Medicine - Gilad Research Staff



About the Department



The Section of Genetic Medicine continues to shape the future of personalized medicine with successful research programs focused on the quantitative genetic and genomic science. The Section provides extremely valuable collaborations with investigators in the Department of Medicine who are seeking to develop new and more powerful ways to identify genetic risk factors for common, complex disorders with almost immediate clinical application.



Job Summary



Principal contribution is providing technical and administrative support for a research project. Under general supervision the Research Technician will perform moderately complex lab and/or research-related duties and tasks.



Responsibilities



  • Works closely with research staff in generating/culturing/differentiatingiPSCs.

  • Collects and maintains data and/or specimens.

  • Analyzes data.

  • Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.

  • Maintains and orders equipment and supplies.

  • Helps monitor compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates.

  • May orient or coordinate the work of research support staff and students.

  • May assist in recruiting and scheduling research subjects; assisting with developing or amending study protocols; assisting with developing data collection tools; assisting with building databases; and providing general administrative support.

  • Sets up and performs experiments, interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.

  • Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.

  • Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.

  • Performs other related work as needed.




Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
