Pay Grade/Pay Range: 56 Hourly (non-exempt) - Minimum - $ 14.49 Midpoint - $ 21.15



Department/Organization: 219101 - University Libraries



Normal Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.



Job Summary: The Assistant Manager of Access Services assists in the oversight and planning for the development, implementation, and delivery of one or more programs, services, or activities within Library Access Services.



Additional Department Summary: This position will act as the night facility coordinator for Gorgas Library. This includes securing the building at closing, confirming that all staff, including student assistants, are on duty, assisting with patrons at either the 1st floor or 2nd floor service desks and being the point person for any emergency situations with UAPD or UA facilities personnel. Provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software as needed to students and patrons.


This position will assist with interlibrary loan transactions and rapid ILL transactions as needed.


In addition, this position will have responsibility for managing the circulation desk and the information service desk, including providing direct reference assistance.



Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of progressively responsible library experience; OR Associate's degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible library experience; OR High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of progressively responsible library experience.



Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience in preferred, preferably in a library environment. Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products. Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
