Job Description:

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Operations IT Data Expertise Manager. The U.S. Gulf Coast Region is the preferred location for this role, however, other Dow locations within North America or Europe may be considered.

This role is part of the Operations IT organization. The Operations IT organization, which is comprised of architecture, domain and business process team members, facilitates collaboration between functions/disciplines and experts in the application of information technology (IT) within an Operations context. The basis of this collaboration is the shared objective of defining, delivering and supporting IT solutions providing optimal capability at minimal lifecycle cost. The Operations IT Data Expertise Manager should have significant experience within manufacturing facilities, should have a strong work process focus, and strong leadership/facilitation skills to effectively partner with site maintenance and production leaders to enable a culture of improvement and sustainability across the site/business end user community.

Key Responsibilities:


  • The Operations IT Data Expertise Manager provides expertise and leadership to a defined discipline and/or business process section through direct engagement with end users and or through functional super user communities.


  • This role manages data including the global Maintenance, Repair and Operating (MRO) supplies catalog and/or SAP Master Data Configuration.


  • Ensures alignment of sites to the global master data.


  • Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.


  • This role leads projects or project steps to create solution methodologies such as data mining, statistics, visualization, optimization and simulation, for example transferring data to a tenant in case of divestiture.


  • Lead and facilitate site/business functional synergies related to Operations ITOT, including functional partnership, work process effectiveness, system usage and effectiveness, training, troubleshooting, and targeted improvements.


  • Utilizes a broad set of tools such as Tableau, BODS, HANA, LSMW, Information Steward…


  • Lead and facilitate site/business functional synergies related to Operations ITOT, including functional partnership, work process effectiveness, system usage and effectiveness, training, troubleshooting, and targeted improvements.


  • This role is global and is aligned to a defined Business Process area. Priorities are set globally to assure highest value work gets priority.

Required Qualifications:


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Maintenance Administration or related technical field OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking.


  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, manufacturing, I/S or related)


  • Experience with PM and/or MRO data space (table, fields, linkage etc.)


  • Experience with ETL tools such as BODS, MS Access, Excel, etc.


  • Experience in SAP Plant Maintenance Data Structure/Readiness


  • Applicable to U.S. or Canadian Applicants Only: A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States or Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong knowledge in programming language such a SQL (preferred) or ABAP


  • Strong knowledge of SAP data migration tools such as LSMW, BDC etc.
