Manager, Corporate Accounting at Westfield in Century City, California

Job Description:

We are looking for a driven individual who wants to learn and to grow as part of our Corporate Accounting team. This role will provide support to the Senior Manager, Corporate accounting, and supervise a team of four accountants.

Responsibilities For The Role Include


  • Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closes.

  • Overseeing the daily accounting activities required to maintain the accuracy of general ledger.

  • Developing and implementing new procedures and features to enhance the workflow for corporate accounting; including but not limited to IFRS and US GAAP close.

  • Partnering with the Financial Reporting team to ensure clean and timely half-year and year-end audits.

  • Supervising, directing, and reviewing the work of accounting staff.

  • Resolving complex accounting and/or financial issues.

  • Training and developing members of the team.

  • Liaising with the Paris-based financial reporting team to answer questions and provide additional analysis to facilitate Group financial reporting.

  • Assisting other departments, e.g., Tax and Treasury, as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.

Minimum Requirements and Skills Include


  • 5-10 years of experience in finance and/or accounting

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA Preferred

  • Prior experience with reporting and ERP systems such as TM1, JD Edwards, or SAP

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Prior experience working under strict deadlines

  • Effective communication and presentation skills with strong attention to detail

  • Capable of thriving in a team-oriented environment and enjoys partnering with other finance teams
