This role will report to the Core Quality Services - Configuration Assurance (CQS - CA) organization and will provide overall leadership and management for the day-to-day operations and performance of CQS - CA activities which may include, but is not limited to:


  • Document Control
  • Configuration Assurance for Product, Quality Systems and Quality Records
  • Local Data Administration of Product Numbers, Bill of Materials and Routers

As the leader of a CQS - CA Team you will be responsible to ensure processing of transactions is done timely and accurately. You will actively monitor workloads, balance work, address and/or escalate issues, maintain performance to service levels, identify and recommend process or system improvements, drive toward standard process and work closely with peers to flex work between teams as needed.

The Local Data Administration Function is responsible for establishing and maintaining material numbers for raw materials, components, sub-assemblies and finished goods. This includes creating the initial part number and handling all revisions and changes to the part. Additionally, this function supports updates for BOMs and Routers often supporting both SAP and a legacy ERP System (including but not limited to QAD, BPCS, JDE).

The Configuration Assurance for Product, Quality Systems and Quality Records Functions is responsible for ensuring changes to product, process, quality system documents and quality records follow procedures and remain compliant to regulations and standards. This function also continuously looks for ways to improve efficiency and quality outputs within the process.

Core Quality Services

Core Quality Services (CQS) is an enterprise level function that looks to leverage Medtronic's size in a shared service model for many Quality transactions. CQS employees continuously strive for process improvement leveraging Medtronic's Operating System, driving efficiency and improving effectiveness.

A Day in the Life

Establish and maintain expectations with internal clients by:


  • Defining and/or reassessing processes for optimal efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintaining service levels and/or taking actions to meet service levels
  • Maintaining communication with business partners
  • Reviewing your team's performance measures
  • Proactively engaging to understand customer satisfaction

Lead and manage the staff to operational excellence by:

  • Developing, recognizing and rewarding both individual and group performance
  • Motivating, coaching and delegating as appropriate to develop a highly effective staff
  • Empower staff to improve work functions while maintaining standard work processes

Lead and manage the staff, systems and processes to an optimal balance of efficiency and effectiveness by:

  • Understanding and addressing process drivers
  • Optimizing benefits of technology with cost/benefit considerations appropriately addressed
  • Provide direction to ensure that operations are anticipating future trends and developing solutions as appropriate
  • Ensuring that work is done efficiently and timely with quality, addressing any shortfalls in department or individual performance in a timely manner

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of work experience in Quality, Operations or regulated industry OR Advanced degree with 3+ years of work experience in Quality, Operations, or regulated industry

Nice to Have


  • Working knowledge of lean sigma concepts, methodology and tools
  • Experience developing and managing complex systems
  • Strong understanding of Quality Systems
