Position can be on-site at either the Mansfield, MA or Minneapolis, MN location.

A Day in the Life

Reporting to the Director FP&A, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible to 'Business Partner' closely and strategically with Quality leaders to provide financial insights and management decision-making support. The candidate will be required to have advanced Excel skills to be able to manipulate large amounts of data. He/she should be comfortable presenting financial topics to non-Finance business partners, energetic, results-oriented and be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:


  • Influencing and leadership: develop and maintain strong relationships with key Quality Functional leaders and Finance partners across MDT. Actively participate in defining consistent processes for communication, forecasting and financial accuracy/accountability with these partners.
  • Financial Modeling and Forecasting: Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain the accuracy of financial models for forecasting, AOP, and Strat Plan. This includes HC demand vs supply and developing multiple what-if project scenarios, with sensitivity tables and ranges.
  • Educating and Training: Focus on helping our partners develop effective financial business acumen and train them on applicable finance policies (example: Cost Center management and Capitalization)
  • Month-end activities: execute standard period and quarter-end financial close activities through analysis of actuals, review of headcount and establishing accruals. Drive monthly reviews of forecast to actual results and rolling forecast. Prepare results commentary.
  • Identify and drive process improvements

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting OR Advanced Degree with 2+ years of experience.

  • Bachelor's degree/Masters degree in accounting/finance/business
  • Comfortable and articulate in presenting financial results to a large audience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle ambiguity.
  • Resourceful and strong systems, data mining skills or have interest and capacity to learn new systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Business partnering
  • Strong influence management skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize systems/data to produce insightful analysis and drive prudent recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion/Essbase.
