Description: Our client is currently seeking a Systems Administrator: Enterprise Logging and Data Management
JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator: Enterprise Logging and Data Management
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
+ 2 years minimum demonstrated experience managing enterprise Splunk and large-scale logging and data collection technologies.
+ Experience working support tickets with AYS and/or Jira or similar platforms.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of common information technology topics including IP networking and Unix and Windows systems administration.
+ Knowledge of common network security concepts including firewalls and identity and access management.
+ Experience developing and optimizing Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL).
+ Knowledge of regular expressions and shell scripting.
+ Experience developing technical process and procedure documentation.
+ Experience using Confluence or similar collaboration tools.
+ This job role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Qualified candidates must be able to prioritize tasks and complete goals independently or via self-directed collaboration with peers.
+ Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical information.
+ Experience deploying and managing AWS and/or other cloud infrastructure services.
This role is part of the Verizon Corporate Information Security (CIS) Data Management and Data Protection organization. The selected candidate will be joining the CIS Enterprise Log Management (ELM) team, which is responsible for logging and data collection, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) services enabling mission-critical security operations to protect the business.
The principal job role supports our customer-facing service desk, providing high-quality technical support to our internal corporate partners.
This role proactively manages support requests from internal partners using AYS and Jira service management platforms. This role requires ability to troubleshoot across a wide range of technical and administrative conditions. Qualified candidates must be able to prioritize tasks and complete goals independently or via self-directed collaboration with peers. Excellent communication skills are required to communicate complex technical information clearly via verbal and written mediums.
Additional duties include:
+ Work effectively with a larger team to optimize enterprise Splunk and data management infrastructures.
+ Identify and troubleshoot logging and SIEM service interruptions across on-premise and cloud networks.
+ Develop dashboards to provide situational awareness about critical infrastructures and processes.
+ Document procedures and processes.
A four-year university degree or equivalent work experience is desired.
Splunk professional certification is highly desirable.
AWS cloud and Linux professional certification are also highly desirable.
The regular schedule is weekday business hours but irregular hours may be required in response to important projects or operational emergencies.
