Job Description:

State Street’s Global Billing Operations (GBO) is seeking a versatile individual with strong business systems and data analysis skills to support its Billing Transformation Program (BTP).  The BTP Data Integration role will have responsibility for helping to identify and source data and support the conversion from legacy billing applications across the organization to the new global platform – Oracle Revenue Management & Billing (ORMB).  These duties include the understanding and management of client transaction data and collaborating with the data sourcing & lineage and IT teams to determine optimal business solutions for sourcing data from trusted golden sources across the bank in order to generate accurate and timely client invoices in a repeatable, governed process.  This role requires the incumbent to ensure that robust stewardship processes are in place to govern data feeding from source systems into a centralized data repository before it is loaded into the ORMB application, and partner with the Enterprise Data Governance Management (EDGM) organization to ensure that all billing data lineage and controls are aligned to EDGM governance standards.  Additionally, this role will continually seek transformation and/or automation opportunities for data management to eliminate inefficient manual processes and mitigate billing error risk.  To be successful in the role, the candidate must possess expertise in functional requirements gathering, documentation and data mapping; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; a proven ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams, and strong collaboration skills.

As the BTP Data Integration Lead, you will be responsible for:


  • Understanding how various fees on client invoices are calculated and helping to determine what data is necessary to facilitate optimal architecture, design, and integration data delivery.

  • Understanding how client transaction data is managed across the organization in order to support the billing data gathering process.

  • Helping to identify opportunities to source and automate the delivery of data from source systems into a centralized data management hub and eventual processing in ORMB.

  • Delivering clear and complete business requirements documentation to support the automated delivery of data from source systems into the data hub.

  • Building strong relationships with project stakeholders in GBO BAU teams, Operations, Technology and the business units that focus on the timely and accurate delivery of data required for generating client invoices and understanding and helping to manage competing priorities across these groups.


  • Assist in identifying any gaps in data availability and/or management processes to ensure that they are fully tracked through to the delivery, testing and finally incorporation into the billing standard operating model.

  • Supporting ongoing project management whenever needed within the data delivery team including but not limited to sourcing plans, project timelines, issue logs, conversion approach, and post-go-live efforts.

  • Ensure processes are automated wherever possible and continue to look for new transformation opportunities to increase automation and reduce operational risk.

  • Provide ongoing support to testing teams as part of the client conversion processes

  • A strong working knowledge of State Street’s primary product and service offerings and how client invoices are generated

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritize work accordingly

  • A proven history of data query investigation and resolution 

  • Strong analytical, reconcilement and organizational skills         

Education & Preferred Qualifications


  • BS degree in Finance/Accounting, Business Administration or Information Technology

  • 4 - 6 years of industry experience in data management, data analysis and business requirements documentation

  • General understanding of data requirements and client billing processes

  • Competency in MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Prior experience with State Street’s primary source systems is a plus, including but not limited to MCH, CNET, Wall Street Office, and others.
