Remittance Processors are responsible for extracting contents of confidential customer information to be processed according to the client's instructions and unique specifications. Data entry functions will need to be performed based on requirements of the client and Financial Institutions. Payments must be balanced, verified, and corrected for accuracy. Remittance Processors will also create, process, and send out reports for wholesale and retail lockbox clients using remittance software. The position requires basic computer skills, excellent communication, and a strong attention to detail. A large portion of daily work activities will include monitoring workflow and execution of client deadlines.

This position will serve as a key partner to Treasury Management, Community Banking, Commercial and Wealth Management/Private Banking as we execute our Remittance growth strategies. This position will also focus on aligning our policies and procedures to ensure that our clients and team members have a consistent experience when crossing between our banking centers, digital and client care channels. All positions are equally important to the overall success of the Lockbox Department and Old National Bank as a whole.

Key Accountabilities

Execution:


  • Extract remittance payments according to client processing instructions, validate transactions, and/or perform data entry function to ensure work is processed accurately

  • Process transactions and utilize data processing equipment

  • Analyze data to solve periodic issues

  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable mail volume

  • Monitor and complete daily reports utilizing remittance software

  • Setup, test, and implementation of new remittance clients

  • Perform end of day functions to ensure proper distribution of reports to remittance clients


Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities, make recommendations, and develop new workflows to improve client experience

  • Works cross-functionally as required to drive initiatives and improve processes between multiple departments within Old National Bank

  • Use information and data to identify any needs within the Lockbox Department

  • Client focus is paramount in the department. All clients have an expectation they will receive the best customer service from the bank.

  • Safeguards all confidential information for financial privacy and HIPPA compliance

  • File necessary documents, coupons, and check storage

  • Requires a high level of accuracy and the ability to perform well under pressure and meet critical deadlines

  • Provide back-up as assigned to other areas within Operations

  • Must be a team player and always maintain a positive attitude

  • Effectively interact with all diverse groups within the organization

Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1 - 3 years banking experience in a back-office operations environment preferred but not required

  • Basic computer and typing skills, along with proficiency in 10-key is strongly desired

  • Attention to detail

  • Must be able to key 2-4 Hours per day

  • Must be able to stand and or sit for 4-8 hours per day

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Ability to lift 15 lbs

  • Continual development of knowledge base and applied learning to benefit the company

  • Develop strong relationships throughout the organization and with key vendors

  • Minimization of errors impacting client's overall satisfaction


Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, could fluctuate to 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM when staffing levels change (Vacations/Volume). There is also a Saturday rotation of 10:00 AM -3:00 PM(once a month).
