We are seeking a Global Strategic Pricing CoE Director, Pricing Modelling & Process (remote). Reporting directly to the Executive Director Global Strategic Pricing, the Manager Price Modeling & Process is focused on leading the optimization of profitable share growth in the aftermarket business. In close coordination with Business Line Leaders, Value Stream Simplification Team, Product Marketing, Category Management and Sales Teams Manager - Price Modeling & Process focuses on building simple, efficient and scalable process to enable pricing monitoring and analysis, assessment of pricing scenarios and evaluation of discounting, rebate and promotion schemes taking into account profit, customer and competitive outcomes.

The Manager will act as a subject matter expert providing strategic pricing process, system and tools leadership, guidance, management and training, working with the multiple senior stakeholders bringing analytical rigor, strategic insights and business judgment to pricing discussions.

The Manager will have responsibility to lead cross-function VSS project to simplify pricing and contractual framework to enable a nimble structure along with supplementing process steps to supplement market and value assessments. This is a senior level individual contributor role with potential to grow into people management in time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Simplify current pricing processes and structure to enable growth
  • Designs modern, simple and effective pricing processes taking into account profit, competitive and customer considerations
  • Performs analysis to determine pricing strategies based on analytical rigour leading to optimized sales, profit, and customer segment penetration across product categories and channels
  • Bring to bear data science and analysis methods to optimize SKU level pricing at scale
  • Upon buy-in and successful implementation of pricing tools and systems work with IT department in implementation pricing software to further automate process
  • Develop a road map for future strategic pricing capabilities (tools, systems, data) and lead enhancement of pricing system and tools
  • Establish and monitor key metrics and improve performance on an ongoing basis
  • Review and optimize rebate and commission programs to ensure they are in line with company goals
  • Oversee development of metrics and dashboards that monitor price performance and empower sales and marketing department to deliver results
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer segments, competitor offerings and market trends
  • Support sell story development for major customers

Required Experience
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Marketing, Statistics, Finance, or other business driven field required, Master's degree preferred.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years professional experience in Strategic Pricing / Revenue Management / Marketing / Sales /Finance in a major corporation.
  • Prior experience successfully leading change management efforts. Prior experience working across cultures.
  • Process improvement background. Six Sigma, VSS, Process Reengineering experience preferred.
  • Prior experience successfully transforming pricing processes through adoption of pricing software (PROS, Price f(x), Synron or other).
  • Strong project management skills (PMP, Six Sigma Certifications).
  • Strategic mind-set. Able to come up with effective plans in line with organization's objectives within a particular economic situation, set goals and determine priorities, and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Good business sense. Strong ability to collect and research market and competitor information, to find and evaluate new business opportunities.
  • Proven experience driving revenue and margin growth through pricing initiatives.
  • Proven experience leading highly visible cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent quantitative, data science (Python, R, S++), and modelling skills required.
  • Knowledge of pricing concepts, including elasticity, pricing waterfalls, margin pool analysis etc.
  • Strong background working with financial statements and drivers of profitability.
  • Expert with Microsoft Suite of tools (Power BI).
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Professional certification in pricing (Certified Pricing Professional, or equivalent), Six Sigma and/or PMP preferred.
