Job Description This position serves as the Outreach Coordinator and provides digital and traditional reference and instruction services, teaches both digital and traditional format information literacy classes, and provides liaison services to the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. This position also conducts informal librarianship observations of both tenured and non-tenured information professionals for library effectiveness, collects and evaluates data and teaching materials related to Learning Assessments and Program Reviews, and performs other administrative responsibilities as assigned by the immediate manager.
List of Essential Activities 1. Works with faculty to design and teach information literacy supplemental classes in both traditional and digital formats, develops teaching and instructional resources for traditional and digital delivery 2. Provides reference services in both digital and traditional formats, including providing virtual reference services 3. Develops and provides outreach services for face to face and eLearning students, and for OCC-affiliated high school students 4. Builds collaborative relationships with OCC faculty, students and colleagues in peer institutions; serves on College committees and participates in professional associations 5. Serves as liaison and collection developer for college programs as assigned 6. Performs informal librarianship observations for tenured and non-tenured information professionals 7. Advises students on academic curriculum; participates in student learning outcome assessments 8. Assumes shared responsibility for the development, collection, vetting, and recommendation of training materials related to using new digital tools and emerging technologies 10. Related projects and duties as assigned
Required Qualifications 1. Master's Degree in Library/Information Science (MLS or MLIS or similar degree) from an ALA-accredited institution 2. Two years' experience providing reference, instructional, or training services 3. One year of experience using digital tools/software to develop information resources and training content 4. Two years' experience with using print and electronic information resources and emerging technologies 5. Experience teaching in a diverse environment to include students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds 6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications 1. Major in an academic discipline of STEM at the undergraduate level 2. One year of experience post-MLS in an academic library 3. Previous experience with library outreach activities

Duration of Employment The College Lecturer II Library is employed on a twelve month basis working 35 hours per week, normally Monday through Friday. This position requires flexibility with regard to work schedule hours depending on the operational needs of the department and may include evening hours and participation in Saturday scheduling rotation as deemed necessary.
Salary $55,000- $65,000/ year (depending on experience)
