Job Summary

The Financial Analyst Senior Specialist is responsible for generating, interpreting and posting recurring reports and projects to support the UK HealthCare corporate budget process. This role will coordinate, manage, and disseminate financial tools, calendars, and systems while driving to optimize existing practices and procedures This position is a result of the UK HealthCare Finance re-organization; internal UK Healthcare Finance employees being considered.

Given the COVID -19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID -19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID -19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID -19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID -19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID -19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Understanding of the healthcare industry, trends, issues, risks, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in finance (including budgeting, forecasting, strategic financial planning, and capital planning) in an integrated healthcare environment. Advanced computer skills with strong knowledge of spreadsheet programs. Ability to perform under changing circumstances and deadlines. Strong attention to detail with the ability to learn quickly. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to gain respect and confidence with professional peers.

Preferred Education/Experience

Preferred education in Accounting, Finance or Economics. Prefer experience strong in financial analysis and forecasting. Experience with database and decision support systems is also preferred.
