TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Product Sustainability Lead in Atlanta, GA
The Product Sustainability Lead is responsible for managing our scope 3 downstream carbon emissions declarations and certifications. This role will be responsible for conducting life cycle analysis and publishing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all main product lines, and moving them to a digital platform as requested by our customers. This position will also integrate with product strategy and engineering to provide feedback through product development to ensure the lowest reasonable embodied/operational carbon per product.
The Product Sustainability Lead will also manage documentation of material transparency certificates such as Health Product Declarations, Declare labels, etc., as deemed necessary by customer research.
This position will also train sales personnel and other internal customers along with external customers, such as architects and general contractors, on how our product sustainability initiatives apply to LEED and other green building rating systems. Additionally, this role is expected to keep up with developments in the green building sector to be prepared to address future business needs.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Lead sustainable product certifications through engineering process to accommodate customer demands
Manage Scope 3 (downstream) demands from customers which can include energy requirements for products, embodied carbon declarations and low-carbon sourcing in supply chain for lower embodied carbon products
Develop with engineering Life Cycle Assessments to publish Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all major product lines
Represent North American business unit on global life cycle analysis product discussions
Provide feedback and train engineers on how to lower embodied carbon in elevators
Embed EPDs in a digital platform and work on industry benchmarking for elevator EPDs
Develop material transparency certificates like Health Product Declarations, Declare labels, Cradle to Cradle certificates as deemed appropriate
Respond to customer requests regarding compliance with LEED certification
Integrate sustainability fully into product development roadmaps and planning efforts through engineering for industry leadership
Identify and prioritize opportunities for sustainability efforts and recommend strategies for proactively addressing relevant sustainability issues
Effectively train sales reps on sustainability. LEED. embodied carbon
Identify and prioritize opportunities for sustainability efforts and recommend strategies for proactively addressing relevant sustainability issues
Track and analyze sustainability, technology and innovation trends to identify growth and product opportunities. Provide recommendations to product development to meet the requirements for sustainability
Integrate sustainability fully into product development roadmaps and planning efforts through engineering
Assist global with implementation of Health Product Declarations and scope 3 carbon management as needed
Promoting accomplishments in both internally and externally with internal marketing team
Who we are looking for
5+ years of experience in corporate and/or product sustainability
BS or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Architecture or Engineering focused on sustainability and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in Strategy, Sustainable Development, Natural Capitalism, Design for Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility, and Materials Science for a B2B or industrial facility.
LEED AP certification with specialty
GaBi Software knowledge
Experience developing life cycle assessment, environmental product declaration, health product declarations and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and bill of materials.
Experience in sustainable building design and construction.
Experience working with suppliers toward lower carbon sourcing strategies
Ability to build partnerships and establish credibility at all levels of the organization and with clients through confident interpersonal, verbal and written communications and presentations.
Self-directed with positive drive and approach, including the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a dynamic team in a virtual working environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including meetingfacilitation and presentations. Proven ability to communicate effectively withall levels of management, internally and externally.
Possess strong research and analytical skills, as well as writing, editing and proofreading skills.
High Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs.
The ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community regarding the sustainability program and present this information to management, public group and existing and prospective customers.

EC3 tool or Tally software knowledge
