Post-doctoral Fellowships in PediatricNeuropsychology & Mental Health
MassGeneralfor Children at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, MA willoffer a number of post-doctoral fellowships from September 2021 through the endof August 2022, with a $40,000 stipend and hospital benefits.
The NeurodevelopmentalClinic (NDC) offers full-time advanced training in neuropsychologicalassessment of children and adolescents for postdoctoral trainees andpost-licensed psychologists. This is aone-year fellowship, with the option for a second year as an AdvancedPostdoctoral Fellow.

In addition, a number of additional full-time fellowshipsinvolving a combination of testing and clinical work will be available. Optionsinclude:
Half-timein the Adolescent Partial Hospital Program & half-time testing in the NDC
Half-timein the Child Psychiatry Service (Inpatient) & half-time testing in the NDC
Half-timein the Psychiatry Service (Child & Adult Outpatient) & half-timetesting in the NDC
The NDCfellowship involves testing children/adolescents with developmental, learning,attention, autism spectrum, behavioral and/or psychiatric disorders. There are alsoweekly didactic seminars and bi-monthly staff meetings. The latter typically involves a casepresentation once a month and an outside speaker once a month. There is alsothe option of testing as part of a multi-discipline team, which includespediatric psychiatry, speech and language, occupational therapy and physicaltherapy.
Fellows in the Adolescent Partial Hospital Programconduct intakes, act as clinical case managers, conduct daily individual aswell as family therapy, and attend weekly team meetings. In addition, fellowsconduct psychosocial assessments, facilitate psychotherapy groups, deliverindividual psychotherapy and family therapy sessions, obtain insuranceauthorizations and participate in weekly multidisciplinary rounds.
Fellows in the ChildPsychiatry In-Patient Service facilitate groups, have a select group ofpatients with whom they will conduct individual and family therapy, and provideconsultation and education for the multidisciplinary team.
Outpatient Mental Health trainingincludes individual and family therapy experience with children and adolescents(0-18) with diverse emotional and neurodevelopmental issues, as well aswith adults (18+) with a variety of presenting problems (e.g., mood,anxiety, trauma). Fellows complete initial intakes and conduct individual,family, and couples psychotherapy, and receive training in behavioralinterventions (particularly play therapy, CBT, DBT and briefpsychotherapies). They engage in weekly individual and group supervision withan experienced and cohesive staff and participate in multidisciplinary teammeetings and staff presentations.
