Job Description:

Yoh is seeking a Research and Development Technical Support Engineer to support our scientific instrumentation client in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Research and Development Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting global technical escalations resulting from processing our clinical assays on our high-throughput (Amplitude) platform. This position requires a MS/Ph.D. degree in bioengineering or molecular biology or BS with equivalent experience

Professional Responsibilities:

• Provide tier 2 systems related technical support to the Tier 1 (Field Support) team who engage with customers in clinical laboratories


• Apply analytical problem-solving skills to evaluate root-cause of escalated troubleshooting cases and provide suggestions for future prevention


• Serve as the primary service liaison between Technical Application Scientists, Field Application Scientists, and the R&D systems development team


• Troubleshoot and confirm any systems complaints coming from our Field Service team, quality team or our commercial partners.


• Collect and analyze information to identify and investigate actual and potential product and quality problems, take appropriate and effective corrective or preventive action, and verify effectiveness of such actions


• Provide training to Field Support and Application Scientists for new releases of Genetic Testing Solutions (GTS) systems, including demonstrating new features, complaint resolutions, and maintenance procedure

Requirements:

• 3+ years' experience of with robotic liquid handling systems and qPCR-based assays/instruments


• MS/Ph.D. degree in bioengineering or molecular biology or BS with equivalent experience


• Experience serving regulated markets in a commercial environment preferred


• Experience with robotic liquid handling systems (e.g. Tecan/Hamilton)


• Experience with nucleic acid sample extraction, purification, preparation, and characterization
