About the role:

You will be a member of the site's Environmental, Health, & Safety Team, reporting to the EH&S Manager. You will oversee the completion and will manage all Emergency Response Team Daily activities and assigned ISO 14001 and 45001 Program. You will will ensure regulatory and internal requirements are meet by the team, along with managing several EHS programs as assigned such as: the site's Building Captain program, departmental safety committee establishment and operations, emergency response systems and Life Safety.

How you will contribute:

• Oversee essential ISO EHS Programs for Safety Committees, Event Investigation, Hot Work Process and lead site Emergency Response Teams, Safety Committees, and Risk Assessment programs.


• Manage monthly training requirements (Hazard Material Cleanup, CPR/First Aid, Medical Response), equipment checks and inventories, Fire-Brigade, Confined Space Rescue, Record Keeping, conduct instructor led training and coordinate vendors to provide training, equipment or consulting services.


• Assist the Environmental Health and Safety Manager in the annual development of the ERT Budget and be the back up contact with local Emergency Responders and the LEPC


• Environmental, Health and Safety program ownership of the sites Emergency Building Captain Program


• Work with each building on scheduling conduction and after action for annual evacuation drills


• Develop CAPAs for program improvement or Gap closure


• Provide guidance and develop Department Safety Committees on best practices and commitment to continuous improvement.


• Develop comprehensive Core Safety Programs, in partnership and consultation with affected partners


• Support construction and maintenance activities from an EHS perspective


• Maintain site metrics, support Occupational Health and Environmental compliance and sustainability projects


• Recognize hazards, improvements, and promote practical alternatives for risk reduction and risk control measures


• Experience and willingness to respond to emergency situations, including working with site leadership to provide advice and direction on behalf of EHS.

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Knowledgeable in National Institute Management System (NIMS) 100, 200 and 700 command structure for Emergency Response and Crisis Management


• Experience in Industrial Fire Brigade Operations, Confined Space Rescue Operations and Hazardous Materials Response Training


• Operational knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001


• Prior leadership and demonstration for leading and developing EHS Committees at the floor level.


• Knowledge of EH&S matters, including related laws and regulations.

• Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.


• Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.


• Work in a cold, wet environment.


• Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.


• Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
