Occupational Summary


Plan,coordinate an d administer activities within assigned program areas; develop,coordinat e and advise on policy related to specified programs.



Wor k Performed


Compliance (ACGME, GME, ICGME) - 25%


* Acquire knowledge of current rulesand regulations to comply with ACGME and institutional requirements.


* Inconjun ction with the Program Directors, design and administer the programs'edu cational curriculum and compile necessary data for continuous qualityimp rovement and accreditation.


* Ensure fellows education iscompliant with national, hospital, departmental, and program policies .


* Managethe annual evaluations process of fellows, o ffice staff, faculty, and programdirectly involved with fellow education .


* Assistin the management of program operational ac tivities. Ensure that educational goals and objectivesare defined, diss eminated, and met as directed by the academic curriculum. Develop a tho rough knowledge of fellowshipdata bases to enhance fellowship programs a nd department efficiency. Annually update the databases.


* Participatein the Institutional GME Committee at the discretion of the Director ofFellowship Education.


Recruitment - 30%


* Participatein the creation, design and publishing of all re cruitment material sent toprospective fellows.


* Orga nizethe annual recruitment of fellows within GME requirements. Develop a thorough knowledge and use of SFMatch and ERAS for applicable fellowsh ip programs; develop a thorough knowledgeof and be able to disseminate i nformation regarding requirements of the AAMCNational Resident Ranking P rogram for applicable fellowship programs; develop athorough knowledge a nd use of the ERAS national database for applicablefellowship programs.


* Haveshared responsibility for management of fellowship programs consisting of anapproved number of fellows through appropri ate utilization of resources anddelegation of responsibilities.


A dultCardiothoracic Anesthesiology, CriticalCareFellowship and Pain Medicine Fellowship Program - 45%


* Provide m anagement assistance toProgram Directors, faculty, fellows, and other de partmental staff by supplyingshared clarification of organizational and departmental policies, standards,operational procedures, and guidelines. Provide appropriate leadership and guidance in conjunction with the Vic eChair of Education and Residency Program Director for the overall opera tion ofthe Fellowship Programs.


* Providefaculty suppo rt the Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and Critical CareMedicine Pro gram Directors.


* Represent the department on require dhospital/institutional/national committees at the discretion of the Dep artment Chair,Vice Chair of Education, and Residency Program Director. /p>


* Communicatewith fellows and Department Leadership re garding departmental and programactivities.


* Prepare and disseminate to all interested parties departmental and fellowship pr ograminformation for departmental meetings as well as departmental/fello wshippolicies on a regular basis. Act aspurchasing agent for all materi als for the programs at the discretion of theDepartmental Chair, Vice Ch air of Education and Residency Program Director.


·Organize and update fellowship didactics o n multipleplatforms.


* Organizeteam meetings and depar tmental activities as required.


* Collaboratewith othe r departments to ensure the continuation of quality fellow education. U pdate fellowship Sakai sites with educationalcontent on a weekly basis.


* Interfacewith the Institutional office of GME and w ork with the Designated InstitutionalOfficial.


·Occasional work outside standard business ho urs







Requ ired Qualifications at this Level


Education/Training :


Work requires analytical, communications and organization al skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.



Experience:

Work requires one year of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acqui re skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of prog ram activities and events.


OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RE LEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Ability to provide guidance and direct ion to subordinates, including setting standards and monitoring perform ance.


Skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengt hs and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.


Skills evaluating program performance, summarizing findings,communicating re sults, and forming an action plan.


Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocati on, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.


Proficient in scheduling and setting up Zoom meetings and WebEx Platforms, Sakai, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerp oint.
