Job Description:

The Product Manager, Mobile is responsible for managing and growing digital advertising and products across CTV and mobile products for Scripps Digital.  You are a passionate product thinker with experience in managing the lifecycle and workflows of exceptional news and entertainment mobile and connected TV products.  You manage products with critical teams from their inception, creation, and testing to their mobile and TV destinations and storefronts.  You are familiar with the details of app store management and knowledgeable in app store optimization. 

As the mobile lead, you will supervise SDLC teams working closely with key divisions such as DevOps, Research, Marketing, Legal and other critical departments relevant to building best-in-class mobile news and entertainment products.  You have the passion and drive to see experiences from a customer point-of-view, to push groups to attain their best, absorb strategic priorities, map them out in clear concise methods, and ensure they are followed through with exceptional execution.  You have the experience to seek and review data and materialize that into ongoing improvements and objectives, ensuring teams are aligned and motivated to increase product growth and obtain milestones and strategic goals. The manager reviews industry trends and the competitive landscape and contributes insights. The product manager collaborates closely with product designers and engineers on challenges, blockers, or resource constraints to illuminate effective solutions, and then work together to deliver those solutions to market.​

WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Act as a product champion for mobile products within the company


  • Manages Scripps portfolio of national network mobile products, their development, releases and maintenance


  • Manages app store submissions, product pages, beta testing, remediates approval issues, reconciles issues in pre-release stages


  • Identify product features and enhancements and manage their entire lifecycle from idea conception to post-launch monitoring and improvements


  • Work closely with the business stakeholders, user experience and technology teams to define detailed key product requirements


  • Define and write product requirement documents for use by development & QA


  • Troubleshoot and problem solve defects, bugs, issues, blockers with development and department resources


  • Ensure product definition and product life-cycle roadmap support the business drivers (i.e., revenue, audience, cost savings, strategic value)


  • Monitor and analyze how well the product is performing including product profitability, actual to planned revenue, usage, customer satisfaction and market share


  • Partners closely with peer organizations, sales, marketing, and product development to evolve platforms, processes, best practices to achieve goals and meet deadlines


  • Prepare and deliver training to both operations and sales


  • Stay current on mobile digital trends and shares knowledge with sales, operations, and digital staff


  • Define and evangelize marketing channel strategy and use data-driven insights to inform strategy and channel opportunities


  • Help to drive critical owned R&R channel strategies that balance demand generation and engagement objectives with relevant, thoughtful end-to-end customer experiences


  • Contribute new ideas and strategies to keep the mobile program on the cutting edge in a rapidly evolving medium


  • Surface competitive offerings in the market assessing relevant strengths and weaknesses


  • Identify and quantify customer segments with strong growth potential, creating businesses case and strategy for targeting


  • Implements growth strategy by coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver necessary changes


  • Perform other duties as needed and as directed by Management


WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Education & Experience/Certifications


  • College degree or equivalent experience


  • 3 - 5 years digital and mobile product management experience


Skills & Abilities


  • Substantial mobile management experience in product discovery, requirements gathering, planning, pre-production, beta delivery and staging, release schedules, and post-release oversite of mobile apps at scale


  • Traditional product management experience including - P&L review, product life cycle management, development of marketing collateral, market needs analysis and business case justification


  • Experience in app store submission processes, storefronts, requirements, R&R management, certifications, developer consoles, etc.


  • Thorough understanding of successful Apple and Android file delivery, timelines, approval idiosyncrasies, metadata needs, and other requirements related to app store publishing and maintenance


  • Exceptional analytical, planning and project management skills - strong spreadsheet, word processing and database skills


  • Proficiency in PM collaboration software such as Confluence.  Experience in managing ticket and bug trafficking


  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere


  • Outstanding verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills


  • Able to express and evaluate ideas with quantitative and qualitative data


  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization


  • Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results solutions


  • Experience collaborating with cross functional team to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established


We will consider remote work beyond our offices in Atlanta, Cincinnati and Chicago for the right candidate.
