Job Description:

We are actively hiring for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our team and support CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, in achieving our goals!

Essential responsibilities




  • Compile data, perform statistical analysis and gain insights from large and complicated insurance data sets. Understand business requirements, provide project updates and communicate results




  • Perform GLM and other statistical techniques to build, maintain, and enhance the auto and homeowners rating algorithms to improve segmentation or customer experience




  • Evaluate and estimate model related impacts and demonstrate expected results from the models




  • Implement formal modeling processes from end to end including data gathering, data profiling, numerical model building, calibration, and validation




  • Work with Pricing and Product Management to provide filing support, product performance monitoring, and other ad hoc support to provide business insights




  • Provide recommendations and assistance in implementation of rating structures and pricing strategies.




  • Update and maintain the loss cost modeling data sets




  • Understand and analyze industry developments, trends and market landscape




  • Perform competitive analysis and understand competitors' products




  • Support development of new products




  • Review work of peers and provide training to junior analysts





What would make us excited about you?




  • BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related area and 5 years of post-bachelor experience performing statistical and actuarial analysis on personal lines insurance




  • Graduate Degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related area and 3 years' experience performing statistical and actuarial analysis on personal line insurance




  • Completion of five or more actuarial exams




  • Strong understanding and proficiency of GLM and other predictive modeling techniques




  • Superior research, statistical, and critical thinking skills with ability to structure and conduct analyses




  • Deep knowledge of the P&C industry, competitors, insurance product pricing, financial drivers of profitability.




  • Proficient in using EMBLEM




  • Proficient in Python, SAS and/or R

Per Nevada SB293 we are disclosing the compensation, or range thereof, for roles that will be, or could be, performed in Nevada. If performed in Nevada, this position has a salary range of $105,000-$123,000. In compliance of Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be, or could be performed in Colorado. If performed in Colorado, this position has a salary range of $75,000-$85,000 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 7% of eligible pay. Please note, hourly or salary compensation, or the range of hourly or salary compensation available for a position may vary by location. We reserve the right to amend these benefits at any time and actual compensation will be determined at time of offer.
