Required:

Master's Degree In Kinesiology or a closely related field including Exercise Physiology,
Health Promotion/Health Science, Physical Education, Recreation &. Leisure, Sports
Management from an accredited Institution.


Willingness to engage In professional development related to teaching and learning strategies for higher education.


Preferred:

Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and/or service In a higher education setting.


At least 1 year of teaching experience as Instructor of record In higher education.


Primary Responsibilities:

Non-Remote Position


Candidates will be expected to teach at least 15 hours each long semester (5-5 load) consisting of undergraduate lecture- and activity based courses. Candidate will primarily teach lower-level undergraduate courses across multiple disciplines In Kinesiology- e.g., Intro to Kinesiology, Intro to Recreation & Leisure, Individual and Team Sports, Sports Officiating, Nutrition, etc. Activity courses Include disc golf, group fitness, cardio/aerobics, swimming, racquet sports, and others.


There may also be additional teaching assignments depending on departmental needs, the individuals interests, educational background and skill level.


Additional responsibilities Include serving as an advisor for the undergraduate or graduate
program; participation In and helping conduct departmental sponsored events.


Responsible for safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. This position is security sensitive.


Other Information:

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
