Responsibilities: 


  • Our Electronics Engineer is a member of a multi-functional team providing Engineering Support Services to the Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center (FAALC) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center Logistic Center in Oklahoma City, OK.

  • The Electronics Engineer’s technical, operational, and functional tasks spectrum includes:

  • Providing professional engineering services in support of the FAALC mission to assure that electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems and components meet FAA requirements for supply support, maintainability, serviceability, and reliability as requested by any FAALC Product Division or Group

  • Performing investigative technical evaluations and studies necessary to complete the information requested

  • Providing services required to complete the request including conducting research on reparability of equipment including repair sources, equipment reliability and obsolescence.

Standard individual administrative tasks including individual time, timesheet, leave, and training completion; performance management; compliance with customer organization and company standards; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.


  • Works under the functional/operational supervision of the Shop Lead and/or Technical Manager/Project Manager.



  • Assists Item Managers, Planners, Technicians and Equipment Specialists on equipment obsolescence, unavailability and suitability/usability issues.



  • Researches and provides documentation and data to support procurement activities and related qualification testing criteria; items may include fabrication, repair and testing services; research may also include policy, guidance and metrics associated with system support. Results of studies and research will also support FAALC engineering drafting services and technical library requirements.


Minimum Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing analyses of electronic and/or electrical components and systems, developing specifications, designing modifications and revisions, identifying part and item substitutions, and producing engineering technical documentation.

  • High level of problem solving skills and the ability to recommend and implement alternative set-up and/or operations for complex systems.

  • Detail-oriented and possesses the ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Experience designing tests and setting up test beds 

  • Experience assisting other engineers in mitigating obsolescence in systems 

  • Development of quality improvements in both hardware and software 

  • Experience developing and executing strategies to ensure system sustainment throughout the life cycle of systems 

  • Ability to provide incident and after action reports and analysis.

  • Excellent customer service skills and professional presence. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to read, speak and effectively communicate in the English language.

  • Solid work ethic.

  • Consistent with President Biden's Executive Order 14042, you must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements to infectious diseases such as COVID-19. The Executive Order generally requires that all federal workers and federal contractor employees be fully vaccinated by January 4, 2022. 

Additional Requirements:


  • Specialized knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, procedures, and operations is highly desired. Knowledge of NAS systems computer hardware and firmware/software to include embedded applications is highly desired.
