RN - Ambulatory - Orthopedics Clinic – 100% FTE, Day - The American Center (TAC) at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority in Madison, Wisconsin

Job Description:

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:

• Work with industry leading orthopedic joint replacement surgeons who provide a full range of arthroplasty care from outpatient joint replacement through robotic assisted surgical procedures to complex joint revision cases.

• Perform traditional clinic-style telephone and MyChart triage and interact face-to-face with patients when teaching the Joints 101 pre-operative course.

• Be part of a team of world-class Orthopedics nurses and clinical staff specializing in Foot and Ankle Surgery, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, Orthopedic Trauma, Rehab Medicine, Spine Medicine and Sports Medicine.

Education:

Minimum - Graduate of school of nursing.

Preferred - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Work Experience:

Minimum - One (1) year of RN experience.

Preferred - Relevant RN experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact.  CPR/BLS Certification.

Preferred - Applicable clinical certification.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record.


• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.


• Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments.


• Ability to educate staff.


• Ability to provide counseling and emotional support with compassion and respect for the individual.


• Ability to provide support to the members of the care team (teamwork).


• Must possess initiative and ability to work independently.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records.

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, Days - Monday - Friday 8 hours between 7:45am and 5:15pm.  Hours may vary depending on department need.
