Seeking Director/Senior Director, Compensation Consultant

The Opportunity:

A&M's Compensation & Benefits practice is currently seeking a Director/Senior Director with key expertise dealing with sales compensation and broad-based compensation benchmarking and design. The ideal candidate will work with our team of professionals to advise companies of all sizes on various compensation matters, with specific responsibilities related to compensation benchmarking, broad-based salary grades, sales and incentive compensation, and executive compensation. Primary Responsibilities Include:


  • Provides guidance on compensation programs and practices, including job benchmarking, salary structure design, job architecture, short- and long-term incentive plan design

  • Evaluates sales compensation plans, including benchmarking, sales/commission plan design, modeling financial impacts, plan implementation and employee communications

  • Participates in multiple executive compensation engagement types including benchmarking and/or designing base salary, annual incentives, long-term incentives, executive-level retirement, and deferred compensation programs for a diverse client base

  • Manages client projects from start to finish, translating client needs into analysis and design recommendations across various compensation topics

  • Participates in marketing and business development initiatives including support on developing compensation work and methodology approaches and drafting supporting proposals

  • Reviews the calculations and work product of peers and junior employees for accuracy and reasonableness

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Bar admission, CPA, or CCP/CECP certification required

  • Five or more years of work experience specifically related to compensation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate complex information, including presenting complex topics in easily understood terms to clients

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to simultaneously work on and manage several projects and effectively manage deadlines

  • High motivation to learn and grow

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Compensation Statement:

The total compensation is based on level, years of experience, location, education, certifications, cost of living, and several other factors. The total compensation range is a good faith estimate with non-guaranteed discretionary elements.

Total Compensation Range (inclusive of discretionary annual incentive): Low: $110,000 - High: $300,000

Benefits Summary:

Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 30 per week) are entitled to an allotment of paid time off comprised of vacation, sick, and personal time as determined by their position and length of service.
