The Analytics team serves as internal consultants to key functions across the business, including Hilton's brands, development, customer, marketing, digital, revenue, and sales organizations with specialized support for the executive leadership team. The team is fully integrated within the business functions to ensure close partnerships and to more effectively measure and drive company performance consisting of domain professionals who serve as strategic advisors to key partners.

What will I be doing?

The Data Science Team serves as internal advanced analytics consultants to key functions across Hilton's business, bringing predictive and prescriptive analytics through Data Science, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). You will be an ambassador bringing values of big data to fruition and serving as the main resource for building sophisticated analytics models for Hilton's groundbreaking data science initiatives!

More specifically, you will:


  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to collect, analyze enhance and understand business requirements, translating activities and business goals into researching, selecting, and building data science models and algorithms
  • Partner with other functional teams to access data elements, understanding the data being analyzed, and identifying improvement opportunities for the data ingestion process
  • Design, improve, document, develop, code, and test sophisticated analytical prototype models in a big-data environment
  • Solve practical data science problems in creative and novel ways, and operate with significant autonomy
  • Provide technical advice to other team members and senior management, and lead model development of data science projects

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of academical/educational research experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or other technical fields
  • Five (5) years of professional/industry experience in building and implementing complex mathematical models/algorithm and sophisticated analytics applications
  • Eight (8) years of research and implementation experience within ML/AI fields and/or statistical analysis for large datasets
  • Specialized experience with modeling techniques such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time series models, maximum likelihood estimation, Bayesian inference, simulation, clustering, tree-based methods, Neural Nets etc.
  • Advanced programming skills in SQL and Python, and proficient with common data science Python packages (including Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn etc.)

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Ph.D Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering or other data-intensive fields
  • Twelve (12)+ years of professional or educational research experience in technical field
  • Ten (10)+ years of experience with building and implementing advanced analytical models in data science
  • Hands-on experience with research and development in marketing research, loyalty program and customer engagement of the hospitality industry
  • In-depth knowledge of both theory and practice of modern forecasting models, recommendation system, and natural language processing (NLP)
  • Proficient with tools for probabilistic methods such as Stan or TensorFlow Probability
  • Publications or presentations in top research journals or conferences
  • Deep understanding of the big-data platforms, cloud service providers related ecosystems such as Apache Spark, Amazon Sagemaker, or similar frameworks

For Colorado applicants only: The annual salary range for this role starts at $93,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Hilton offers its eligible team members a comprehensive benefits package including medical and prescription drug coverage, dental coverage, vision coverage, life insurance, short-and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, paid time off, and our travel discount. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company.
