SourceAmerica is looking for a talented Culture and Engagement Partner to join its Vienna, VA-based Human Resources team. SourceAmerica offers a hybrid work arrangement with its employees, meaning you can work remotely Monday and Friday and in the office Tuesday - Thursday.

Position Summary


This position develops, implements, and monitors programs that influence who joins our team (recruiting), how we continually engage those employees, and foster a high-performing team culture within the organization. This Partner serves as the HR ombudsman to employees throughout the candidate and employee lifecycle including recruiting, initial employee orientation, employee development, training, and succession plans. This position partners with other HR team members, Learning Solutions team members, and it reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources


Here are some of the functions of this position; a full position description will be given to candidates in the interview process.


Essential Functions



  • Ensures SourceAmerica’s recruiting programs target essential skill sets and experience and foster the development of a diverse population of employees. Supports managers in their pursuit to hire the best candidates to fulfill SourceAmerica’s mission.

  • Handles the candidate-to-employee transition happens smoothly, such as: candidates receive all accurate new hire documentation in a timely manner, schedules orientation and on-boarding meetings, ensures that newly hired employees receive essential training to understand the mission, vision, and values of SourceAmerica, the job-specific training to ensure proficiency, and helps determine professional development training needed for future success.

  • Partners with VP, Human Resources and HR Business Partners to determine manpower planning needs across business units taking into consideration data from the succession planning program, professional development programs, skill gap analysis, and business needs according to the strategic plan.

  • Ensures SourceAmerica is delivering training programs for staff that encourage professional development, enrich the work lives of employees, and build a culture of inclusivity. Partners with Learning Solutions and Leadership to develop, assign, and follow up on on-going staff enrichment programs that support SourceAmerica’s commitment to the Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. AbilityOne Commission, strategic plan, and commitment to ISO 9001-2015 standards. These programs include but are not limited to high levels of customer service delivery, accountability, high-performance culture, management skills, and a commitment to values.

  • Develops, recommends, and executes the employee engagement initiatives at the company including employee events, development plans, employee resource groups.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills



  • Associates Degree

  • Five years of relevant work experience with organizational development, employee training, staff recruiting, or similar

  • SourceAmerica recognizes 1½ years’ experience = 1-year college, should a candidate not meet the required education

  • Two years’ experience managing cloud-based data management systems such as HRIS, Learning Management System (LMS), or similar. SourceAmerica uses UltiPro/UKG as its HRIS and Cornerstone as its LMS.

  • Two years’ experience managing customer relationships or handling challenging employee relations issues.

  • Two years’ experience with hands-on recruiting activities or recruiting strategy in the private sector.

  • Two years’ experience with human capital-related organizational development programs such as performance management, employee engagement, succession planning, mentoring, or similar.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills



  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject matter from an accredited college or university

  • Seven or more years of relevant work experience with organizational development, employee training, staff recruiting, or similar

  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR

 Vaccination Requirement


In accordance with Executive Order 14042 and the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force Guidance, SourceAmerica, a covered contractor, requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment, unless a disability or religious exemption is approved. An individual is considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 two weeks after they have received the second dose in a two-dose series, or two weeks after they have received a single-dose vaccine. If you are hired, you will be required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or that you qualify for an exemption.
