At the Boston Health Technology Center, we are focused on creating innovative health and wellness technologies, in support of the broader Best Buy Health mission to help seniors, and those that support them, as they continue to live well in their own homes. We are an innovative and agile product development team whose mission is to build data science infused digital products. Our solutions include wearable and IoT sensors to track activity, detect emergency events, and assess current and future physical and mental health of seniors.

The Best Buy Health Applied Research team coordinates and conducts research studies to evaluate the feasibility and value of new technologies, services, and offerings for Best Buy Health. We are looking for a self-driven, detail oriented, and motivated Study Operations Manager to join our fast-growing team. As a Study Operations Manager, you will utilize Best Buy Health research tools to meet our internal and external study needs. You will work with Best Buy Health legal and compliance teams to ensure data privacy and compliance, work with Best Buy Health engineers to bring study requirements to life, and work with external research partners to identify study requirements and to coordinate study logistics. Finally, you will carry out the day-to-day aspects of certain external studies and internal technology explorations.

Minimum qualifications:


  • BA/BS in biology, medical science, or engineering (or 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree)

  • 2+ years of related experience in clinical research, including experience with human subjects research

  • Working knowledge of HHS regulations for the protection of human subjects (45 CFR 46) including procedures for obtaining informed consent and data protection

  • Experience applying for Institutional Review Board study approval

  • Familiar with the techniques and limitations of observational studies and interventional studies

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams

  • Proven ability to establish solid relationships and problem-solve at both the organizational and interpersonal levels

  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with Older Adults

  • Experience working with wearable sensors

  • Contract Research Organization or Sponsored Research experience

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery management tools (ex: JIRA, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops, Jira, or related)

  • Familiarity with medical device design controls including ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820

This position sits in Boston and will be in a hybrid working model.
