Position Summary

Guardian Life Insurance Company is seeking an outgoing, well-spoken professional to fill oue. Lead Cyber Security IT Risk and Control Ageny Analyst  position responsible for assessing cyber risk and controls used to protect and secure confidential data.  The candidate will validate these controls to ensure their compliance with existing policies. Additionally, the candidate will provide guide and recommendations on the remediation of deficiencies and track these efforts through completion.

You Have

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems Administration or an alternative technology related field


• Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably as an IT audit manager


• Excellent knowledge and experience assessing and auditing Cybersecurity controls, IT systems and controls; networks and operating systems and/or application support, IT General Controls and IT Application controls.


• Strong oral and written communication skills; confidence to work with business, compliance, IT leadership within Guardian’s Agencies.


• Independent, self-starter, with a strong work ethic, high degree of motivation and the ability to contribute to a positive team attitude; proven dedication to teamwork, and integrity within a professional environment


• Strong Communication skills and command of English language.


• Familiarity with Windows (Active Directory), user access/groups/permissions and end-point security.


• Ability to analyze, create matrices, and update data from reports

You Will

• Provide Agencies guidance around the Agency Security Policy and Implementation Standards (APIS), general controls and technical/operational solutions focused on the protection of confidential data.


• Monitor and validate Agencies controls and compliance with ASPIS including policies, processes, procedures, organizational structures, software/hardware functions and third-party relationships.


• Carry out all facets of the control process including documentation, tracking, validation of key controls implemented by the Agency and their technical/cyber support team.


• Assess and validate the risk assessment process conducted by Agencies or their contracted assessment firms.


• Review High/Medium risks and ensure proposed remediation efforts align with ASPIS and are completed in a timely manner.


• Serve as lead analyst for Agencies and Home Office efforts/questions related to the Agency Cybersecurity program, projects and tracking. 


• Collaborate and share information across different Guardian assurance groups, (i.e. Agency Audit, Branch Examiners) to create efficiencies, eliminate redundancies and minimize disruption to Agencies.


• Educate and influence Agency leadership and IT management on any significant risks, control issues or quality of the risk assessment process.


• Leverage resources across IT, business areas and offshore partners as needed.


• Participate in drafting and updating Agency security policies, procedures, templates and educational content associated with the Agency Cybersecurity program.


• Participate in creation, maintenance and delivery of Agency Cybersecurity awareness and training (e.g., documentation, webinars, onsite).

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Head of Agency Information Security Governance who, iin turn, reports to the  Chief Information Security Officer.

Location & Vaccination Requirements  

• The primary location for this position is New York City, Bethlehem, PA, or Holmdel, NJ.

Travel

Up to 30% Travel - travel between Guardian sites in NYC, Bethlehem, New Jersey as well periodic travel to Guardian Agencies across the United States.
