Phlebotomy Specialist I PRN at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia

Job Description:

• Collects patient specimens, correctly identifies patients, transports specimens, and performs phlebotomy.


• Responsibilities include organization of phlebotomy batches, managing workflow, restocking supplies and shadowing phlebotomy trainees.


• Performs specimen processing as needed.

Requirements

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Training in a formal Phlebotomy program
 
Skills:
Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills
Ability to collect blood samples from both adult and pediatric patients using venipuncture and capillary collections in various clinical settings.
 
Shifts:
Required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends or overtime as need exists
 
Phlebotomy Specialist 1 (PS 1) OR Phlebotomist - (Entry level) Less than two years of experience. Demonstrates ability to collect adult and pediatric specimens in the outpatient setting. Certification not required.
