About the Position

The Procurement Analyst is responsible for performing a variety of enterprise wide procurement & supply chain support functions by using analytical techniques and tools to inform the best decisions for CM. This role with lead in identifying information gaps between departments and operational systems, and transform insights into continuous improvement opportunities. This role supports the plants and buyers in ordering, scheduling, and inventory management of ingredients, packaging, and commodities. This role will perform duties with discretion and good judgment including the generation of monthly departmental reports, PO/Invoice accuracy, change order execution, supporting plant trial activities, aged & excess reports, inbound freight analysis, continuous improvement projects, and ongoing support of the manufacturing facilities on ingredient and packaging related issues.

  • Mine for, organize, and analyze data to provide situational recommendations (ex. changes to forecasts, production plans, and purchasing strategy)

  • Subject matter expert in data availability and organization across CM departments, and a confident user of analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Access)

  • Responsible for identifying information gaps between key operational systems & transforming findings into to process improvement

  • Coordinate development of best practices to utilize system functionality to solve problems

  • Effectively leverage tools across departments and divisions

  • Help standardize approach to problem solving, product transitions, new product introductions

  • Represents Procurement as resource and information liaison in support of cross-functional projects

  • Provides data to manage implementation and execution of changes in formulas and packaging

  • Documents and creates standard operating procedures for existing processes, incorporating best practices

  • Provides analysis and interpretation of assembled data to identify anomalies from stated plan

  • Interprets requirements and provides recommendations to resolve moderately complex problems

  • Assists with decision making processes, provides analytical, planning and/or administration guidance to departmental/divisional leadership and/or managers.

  • Provides a support of project management as needed

  • Consults with cross functional team to provide interpretations and recommendations on run-out plans

  • Analyzes opportunities for risk management, cost containment, and loss prevention initiatives

  • Ability to build relationships and partnerships within the organization and across all functions, including influencing other members of the organization to help achieve goals and increase performance

  • Demonstrated advanced problem solving abilities & analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong knowledge in ERP applications (JDE) for supply chain management

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time as required

Education and/or Experience:


  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in multiple operational disciplines (Manufacturing, Distribution, Warehousing, Planning, and Logistics) preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) or C.P.S.M Certification through Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and/or member of American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone along with reaching. Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work. Moderate noise, ability to work in a confined area, and ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time are also included.
